Smith Students

NPC is very lucky to have a talented team of work-study students from Smith College during the academic year. They provide essential support during weekly playgroups and events, and are a beloved and valued part of the NPC community.

Kira (she/her)

Kira has been with NPC since 2023. She is a rising junior, majoring in English and Math. She loves reading and playing board or card games with her family!

Grace (she/her)

Grace started at NPC in fall 2024. She is studying History and Landscape Studies, and proficient in Spanish.

Liz (they/her)

Liz is the newest member of the Smith Students Team, having started in winter 2025. She is a junior double majoring in Psychology and Portugese & Brazilian Studies. Liz is a native Spanish speaker and fluent in Portugese. She loves going for walks in town and trying new foods!

Northampton Parents Center

Northampton Parents Center is a nonprofit cooperative drop-in center for children, birth to kindergarten age, and their caregivers. Since 1986, Northampton Parents Center (NPC) has provided a safe, nurturing environment for families with young children to socialize. Free daily drop-in playgroups are Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 11:30 am. More information here.

The Parents Center is located in the lower level of Edwards Church at the corner of State and Main Streets in downtown Northampton.

Mission Statement

Since 1986, the mission of Northampton Parents Center has been to provide a safe and friendly space for young children and their caregivers to meet and play; to find support and resources; and to create connections and friendships.

Donate

All donations to NPC are tax deductible. We are 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We welcome your donations.

For the last several years, 80% of our funding has come from individual, family, and business donations from folks like you!

Our program also receives funding from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and care through a grant administered by Northampton Public Schools
